FRONT ROYAL—Despite a third-quarter comeback effort that erased what had been an 18point Central High lead, the Rappahannock varsity basketball team was eliminated in the first round of Bull Run District Tournament play Tuesday night.
Playing at Warren County High in Front Royal, the Panthers went way behind early, losing star forward Michael Williams in the first five minutes because he collected two technical fouls.
The Central Falcons hit the court running, building firstquarter leads of 17-2 and 24-6 on strong outside shooting and a fast-break offense that found Rappahannock flat-footed.
