'With horror
and disgust'
To the Editor:
It was with horror and disgust that I read your article on the suit being brought against Wakefield Country Day School, my mother Pamela Lynn, and my grandmother Clydetta Lynn. The article describes a suit whose entire purpose appears to be the emotional harassment of my family and the degradation of its hard earned achievements.
Particularly disturbing are the allegations that my father, Bill Lynn, fabricated his credentials and had people address him as “Doctor.” Because they have no bearing on the suit (and are patently untrue), these allegations appear to be the desperate attempt by a vindictive rival to shore up its failing credibility by casting aspersions on a dead man who is unable to defend himself.
The supreme irony of the whole nasty mess is that they claim to espouse and teach the educational program of the same man whose educational background they denigrate.
If they truly believe their own allegations will they take the twofaced approach of claiming the 1972 founding date? Will they continue to say that they are the inheritors and teachers of my father and mother’s immensely successful classical program?
In a way I suppose that I can almost thank them for making these allegations as it forces them to forever separate their school from my father’s (and my own) name. As an aside I would like to point out that if
