The Town of Washington Architectural Review Board (ARB) approved two changes to the front of The Inn at Little Washington during its monthly meeting Thursday night.
Chef and co-owner Patrick O’Connell submitted applications to replace three lights above the front entry way and to install doors on the second-floor porch facing Middle Street, v « *
Mr* O’Connell excused himself from the ARB, of which he is a member, to present the two applications before ARB members Eve Willis and Donna Kevis.
He brought an example of the brass-and-glass octagonal lights that he plans to put up in place of three ' can-style lights. The application passed 2-0.
On the second-floor porch of The Inn, Mr. O’Connell requested permission to install custom-milled louvered bi-folding doors to replace canvas curtains. The curtains allow individual room occupants to isolate a portion of the porch for their own use, if they wish. The doors will serve the same purpose.
Mr. O’Connell also said he would paint the doors to match the color of the rest of The Inn.
The doors were passed 2-0, contingent on Mr. O’Connell providing dimensions and specifications to the Zoning Office within a week.
Wendy Weinberg also made an application to the ARB; her’s was to add a stairwell at the end of a side " porch on The Theatre at Washington, Va. building.
