The three judges awarded the RCHS Band with an overall score of a “I,” a superior rating.”
Next, the band was given a sightreading selection. The band director and her students had seven minutes to review the piece of music without playing. They performed the selection and were again awarded a superior rating.
Members of the RCHS Band received blue ribbon medals for their skill and dedication. The Band’s award plaque was presented to RCHS Principal John Toth by the band’s elected president, Bonnie Jewell.
The RCHS band will be marching in the Winchester Apple Blossom Parade and the Memorial Day Parade in Front Royal.
