Baptist Sunrise Services Planned

The congregations and the ministers of the Amissville, Forest Grove, and Woodville Baptist Churches of Rappahannock County will be uniting for their annual joint Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 3, Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

The service will be held on Red Oak Mountain near Woodville. Should there be inclement weather, the service will be moved to the Woodville Baptist Church on U.S. 522 in Woodville. The sponsoring churches warmly invite all their members and friends to attend this year’s Sunrise Service. Those planning to attend should be aware that this year Easter Sunday also marks the first day of Daylight Savings Time, and should plan accordingly.

This year’s Easter message will be brought by the Rev. Tom Everett, minister of the Amissville Baptist Church. The service will also feature special music and congregational singing of hymns appropriate to the Easter season.

Immediately following the Easter Sunrise Service, the Forest Grove Baptist Church will be serving its traditional Easter Sunday breakfast at the old Forest Grove Schoolhouse located near the intersection of Rts. 729 and 640 near Viewtown. There will be no charge for the breakfast, but donations will be accepted. Anyone who wishes to join the congregation at Forest Grove for breakfast is warmly invited to do so.
