According to Coach Bob Howard, Jason Brown, who is the catcher for the team, is batting .667 and is the best hitter on the team. “He has improved with every game behind the plate,” said Coach Howard.
Other top hitters are Luke Zindel, and Paul Brown, who had two hits in the last game and scored two runs.
There are several pitchers for this young team. J.C. Welch and Jon Digges pitched against Strasburg, and A1 Kellert pitched in the Madison game.
Coach Howard said, “We had six hits in each game. We are a very young team with only two seniors. I think all the players are still a little nervous.”
The next home baseball game will be against Manassas Park on Monday at 5 p.m.
Due to the weather, the soccer team has not played yet, but was scheduled to play against Clarke County Wednesday at 4 p.m.
