Bible School at Sperryville The Sperryville United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School Aug. 17-21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The theme will be Circle of Love. The program will conclude on Friday with a very special celebration. All area children are invited to attend for a fun filled week of crafts, garner, songs and refreshments.

Homecoming at FT. Baptist F.T. Baptist Church will observe its annual homecoming Sunday, Aug. 16 beginning with the worship service and special music at 11 a.m. A potluck dinner will follow in the fellowship hall. Guest speaker will be Dr. William Cumbie, director emeritus of Mount Vernon Baptist Association. Director of the association from 1957 through 1988, he is a former pastor of First Baptist Church, Annandale. Adjunct professor of Baptist studies and missiology at Baptist College of Washington, he was a member of the presidential task . force during the Baptist denominational crisis. An author, he also is a former president of Baptist General Association of Virginia. All are invited.
