Lord Fairfax class at RCHS
A Professional Development class ( course #AST206) will be offered by Lord Fairfax Community College at the Rappahannock County High School. The class is part of the Office Systems Technology degree program at LFCC. This class is designed to develop professional awareness in handling business and social situations and emphasizes goal setting, critical thinking, decision-making, and employment skills.
The three credit class will be held on Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 25 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost of the class is $142.95 ($47.65 per credit) plus an additional fee for textbooks. Families plan reunion
The Atkins and Dodson families will hold a reunion on Sunday, Aug. 23 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center near Front Royal at the Thwaite Shelter. Those attending should bring a picnic lunch to share. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
• Soccer registration set
The Rappahannock Soccer League registration will be held Aug. 15 from 9 a m to 12 noon at the Rappahannock County Elementary School The fee is $35 for first player and $30 for each additional player. Birth certificates are needed. Call Sarah at 675-1781 or Camille at 937-7547 with questions.
Bowen reunion scheduled
The annual Bowen family reunion will be held at the Rappahannock Park near Washington on Saturday, Aug. 15 beginning at 10 a m. All attending are asked to bring a covered dish and drink to share.
Gateway committee to meet
The August Gateway Community Committee meeting will be held Aug. 27 instead of the regularly scheduled date, of Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall. Interested persons are invited to attend.
Coaches to meet
Rappahannock Soccer League coaches will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the Rappahannock Extension Office. Coaches are needed for teams and anyone interested should contact Camille at 937-7547.

Thursday, Aug. 13: Rappahannock Water Monitoring Network Meeting, planning session to discuss future programs at 7 p.m. at Rappahannock County Library.
Sunday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall, follow-up meeting for the 1999 Trash Free Rappahannock project.
Classmates to reunite
The graduating Rappahannock High School class of 1958 is holding a 40th year reunion on Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Childcare and Learning Center Picnic Shelter on U S. 211 near Washington. A spokesperson said, “bring your family, a picnic lunch, and a lawn chair, 40 years is a long time and we are curious about wk: classmates are doing.” Also invited are alumni from 1953-1963 classes, as well as current and former teachers and principals.
