vmaige mat year. This is the first big event for the winery.
“In terms of what I wanted it to be it’s been that,” said Marilyn Armor, owner with her husband David. “We got people who are interested in wine and got a real cross section of people here. It was interesting to see how many people came early or late. It was a good experience in terms of getting my feet wet. I learned a lot and it was controlled which is what I’d hoped for.”
The Armors sent a limited number of announcements out about the event locally and to people who have visited Sharp Rock B&B or the winery in order to keep numbers down for this first festival.
The vineyard offered three wines this year — a chardonnay, chardonnay reserve and a cabernet. The chardonnay is barrel fermented in older French oak barrels and has what David Armor terms “a fruity, very aromatic aroma ... It goes well with all kinds of food.”
