Armor said, because of the hot summer, very little rain and cool nights now. He won’t predict for next year but has made improvements at the vineyard during 1997-98 and has replanted.
By the year 2,000 he says the vineyard will be full grown and fully producing — about 30 tons of grapes for five acres of vineyard.
Next year will also see another wine added to the inventory. “This year was our first vintage for sauvignon blanc. We’ll have about 50 cases. We’ll make it in semidry style, it will be our only semi-dry style,” Armor said.
“We have added a winery storage area, a cooling room to chill wine for events such as this one and to chill the grapes after the harvest and a tasting room.” They’ve also added more barrels for more wine production. “When we finish with producing the sauvignon blanc it will give us three basic wines with four grape varieties.”
In the future they may add more sauvignon blanc, he said, but they want to sell it for several years beforehand to see
