the conference common elements of effective school systems were presented. One of the keys to an excellent school, they discovered, was a school climate that encouraged everyone to contribute to learning.
RCHS , principal Jack Raines liked Cumin’s idea and lent his support, then other teachers became enthusiastic and soon parents joined in the planning. One student commented, “It was awesome... a great way to start the year. I got to know a few students as well as new teachers better than I did before. I also learned how important team cooperation can be.”
Raines said of the day, “It’s the first time I felt the students had a chance to come back, mingle with friends, make new ones and work toward a common goal. I thought it was tremendously successful.”
