Last time, we covered the
process used to develop and update the Six-Year Plan for Secondary Road Improvements and its budget for the subsequent fiscal year. This article covers the content of the plan. Currently, the Six-Year Plan contains 31 projects that are scheduled for completion between 1998 and the year 2005. Each year, completed projects drop off the top of the list, and newly approved projects usually go to the bottom of the list.
This year, there are also five additional projects, the zero-series, which precede all others, these being projects from prior fiscal years that are being completed or that involve certain countywide VDOT efforts.
