An enticing program of drama and music marks the upcoming season for The Theatre at Washington, Va., whose new schedule has just been announced.
The season opens on Sept. 19 with “Benchley Despite Himself,” a oneman play about the life and art of humorist Robert Benchley. The play was written and is to be performed by Benchley’s grandson, the professional actor Nat Benchley.
The second dramatic performance of the season brings Interact Theatre back to Little Washington, with Catherine Flye and Friends, and their production of “Joyce.” This is a witty entertainment of music, monologues and song celebrating the life of the British comedienne Joyce Grenfell. The performance is scheduled for Nov. 7, with a matinee on the following day.
