Leaky roofs

Diagrams handed out at the Jan. 12 school board meeting show leaks above all the classrooms in the new wing of the elementary school and 20 roof leaks in the high school.
This winter’s ice storms seem to have worsened the previously leaky roof in the high school and revealed new roof problems in the elementary school.
The flashing may have been incorrectly installed in the elementary school roof, reported superintendant David Gangel. *
The architect and contractor responsible for the roof are looking into the problem, Gangel said.
Replacing the high school’s aging roof has long been seen as needed, but funds have not been adequate to do so.
Parent-teacher
conferences
shifted
The school board announced Jan. 12 a new schedule for parent-teacher conferences — one designed to ease the pressure on parents with children in both county schools.
Instead of conferences for both schools on the same day, this will be the schedule:
• Elementary conferences on Thursday, Jan. 28, 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
• High school conferences on Thursday, Feb. 4, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. two schools will confer
