she will play in the District Joana. An exceptional musician, she also plays the french horn in the Middle School Band. She practices the trumpet, french horn, and the keyboard extensively. Mattie is definitely a star in the making!
This is the first time in many years Rappahannock County has participated in the District Band Program and we are very proud of Mattie for her “pioneer efforts.” During the audition, she had to play memorized scales, the chromatic scale, and sight read a piece of music no one had ever seen before. This is a huge achievement for anyone, let alone a sixth grader having the highest score in the county.
