Women’s Bureau to meet

The Rappahannock Women’s Bureau has changed its regular meeting time to the first Friday of each month. The next meeting will be Feb. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Self-Help Center, 31 Main Street, Sperryville. Three committees will form, Women in Business, Women and the Arts and Women and Home Ownership. Call Elizabeth Lee-Harris if you are interested but cannot make the meeting, 987-1002.

Science fair scheduled

Students at Rappahannock Elementary School and Rappahannock High School are busy getting their science projects ready for the Rappahannock Science Fair which will run from Feb. 3-5. The public is invited to visit the Science Fair from 1 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4

DARE graduation planned

The public is invited to attend the annual fifth and sixth grade DARE graduation on Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School auditorium. Rappahannock Sheriff Larry Sherertz will be speaking.

RAA registration set

The Rappahannock Athletic Association has announced the following dates and times for registration: Saturday, Feb. 6; Saturday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 20. All registration will be held from 9 a m. to 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. All new players signing up must bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. Cost ranges from $35 to $60, a discount applies for each additional family member. For information or rates call Fred Naramore at 937-5367 or Mauri Payne at 675-3729. All games are played in Amissville.

Valentine’s dinner planned

The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary is having its annual Valentine’s dinner on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. The meal will consist of half-barbecued chicken with wild rice, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls, garden salad, homemade desserts and beverages. Prices are $8.50 for adults, couples $15 and children under eight will be $3. The meal will be prepared by Pat Jenkins and Company. Carry-out service will be available.
