A fascinating National Geographic film with scenes shot in Sperryville in October, 1997 will air on TBS cable television at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
“The Secret Life of Cats,” included a number of scenes filmed on Keyser Run Road in Gid Brown Hollow.
Local children, Devin and Keenan Sherwood, Windham and Tiana Lucking and Hannah Morgan appeared in the film, playing nide-andseek that led to them discovering kittens in a bam.
In the film, Alison Argo, who wrote, directed, produced and narrated the film, showed gentle domesticated house cats to be ferocious hunters with physically amazing abilities.
She further pointed out the staggering impact of the 100 million cats on U.S. wildlife.
The film is also available for home video, by calling National Geographic at 800627-5162.
Argo said she was presently busy making a movie she called “Wisdom of the Wild,” with the message about the many ways that we can learn from animals. She plans on filming in Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Kenya and Tanzania.
