Charles Thornhill
Rappahannock resident
Charles Ashby Thornhill, 77. of Rappahannock died Aug. 29 at his residence.
He was bom Aug. 11. 1926 in Slate Mills to the late Charles Henry Thornhill and Lucy Elizabeth Bailey Thornhill. ■ Mr. Thornhill retired from Rochester Rope Corporation alter 39 years as a rope maker.
He is preceded in death by a sister, May Elizabeth Moran and a brother, Joseph Winfield Thornhill.
Mr. Thornhill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Johnston Thornhill and four daughters, Anne Carpenter of Reva, Nancy Boyd of Madison, Mary Jane Gray of Culpeper and Linda Thornhill of Charlottesville.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren, and one brother, Thomas Lindsey Thornhill of Boston. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Tbrnmy.
A graveside funeral service was held on Sept. 2 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Wilson officiating.
Ralph W. Brown
Woodville resident
Ralph Wayne Brown, 72, of Woodville died Aug. 29 at his residence.
He was bom May 4, 1931 in Woodville to the late Henry Aldridge Brown and Chloe Merle Bruce Brown.
Mr. Brown retired with 23 years service in the U. S. Air Force.
He enjoyed golf, gardening and his family.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann Brown, one son, Tim Brown of Woodville.
