Rappahannock youngster Sam Mullany found his way to a planetary puzzle while other residents gathered around various telescopes which were on hand. Patorni had explained earlier in the evening that these telescopes used either reflection or refraction to generate images of the night skies.

Patorni himself was "dmazed that so many people are interested in what there is to see in the night sky,” and said that if audience members left that evening having gained only one thing he hoped it would be a realization of the "value of being able to watch the stars in a dark sky.”
