The student* vie for cash awards (scholarships) for their performances. First place winners in instrumental and vocal divisions receive $100, second place $75, third place $50 and honorable mention placements receive $20. The cash awards come from fund raisers conducted by the club members each year. All contestants will receive the Official Bland Contest Certificates. “Mon* than the money, the students have a chance to showoff their individual talents to the community,” said Norm Getsinger, who is returning as the Master of Ceremonies for this year’s event. The overall point winners of this judged contest will be eligible to participate in the District 24-A, Region IV Bland Contest on March 9.
