Saturday’s regional loss to George Mason was particularly painful for the Panthers. Not only did they defeat them earlier in the double-elimination tournament, they squandered a huge lead the second time the two played.
“We need to get way lucky,” Rappahannock County junior captain A.J. Collins said. “We need to get the right questions and know them earlier than they do, and we’re bound to win.”
Sophomore Brittany Clatterbuck expressed the same sentiment.
“It is hard to beat them. You look across, and those guys are geniuses. They can go to Harvard and Yale,” she added. “It’s exhausting. You can play for hours and hours. We’re going to have to get a break.”
Rappahannock County certainly is capable of creating opportunities.
