JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Director of Marketing and Development PURPOSE OF POSITION: Lead marketing and development department REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer SALARY GRADE/RANGE: Grade 7. Starting Salary: $50,000 RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise all marketing and development staff and consultants. • Actively participate in the management team, including tactical and strategic planning. • Prepare, recommend and manage marketing and development budget in collaboration with the CEO • Develop and implement strategic multifaceted fundraising through annual and capital campaigns, organizational marketing, and corporate and foundation grant proposals. • Oversee all activities related to the analysis, planning, execution, control A evaluation of fundraising and communications programs. • Research and identify prospective donors, supervise ongoing cultivation of current donors, and ensure accurate record keeping in fundraising database. • Ensure legal registration to solicit charitable donations in all 50 states and ITS. territories as required. *\ • Oversee implementation of the Combined Federal Campaign • Serve as liaison, in collaboration with Programs staff, to develop relationships and strategic partnerships with potential supporters, partner NGOs and agencies. • Conceptualize A coordinate production of marketing and development materials, including: campaign prospectuses, brochures, newsletters, annual report, video, and other collateral materials. • Manage branding efforts, ensuring all fundraising and communications programs and materials are consistent with organization identity and mission as determined by the board. • Promote positive public image A awareness of organization through press releases, company website, internet, & other print & film media • Coordinate and shape media coverage, positioning staff and board as informational resources for media interviews. • Manage all permissions, copyrights and reprint requests. • Plan, organize and implement public relations, marketing and fundraising events. • Oversee implementation and maintenance of visual media and quotes databases, • Coordinate Web development, content and design EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Advanced degree in communications, international relations, marketing, public relations or relevant field • 7 10 years progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, development'and communications. • Staff supervisory experience SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Excellent writing, speaking and editing skills: strong visual and design sense • Knowledge of fundraising software, preferably DonorPerfect Online • Comprehensive knowledge of U S and international media, • Knowledge of current fundraising and communications best practices being used in the nonprofit sector. • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite programs.
