Mountain Vista Governor’s School (MVGS) is pleased to invite prospective students and parents to an open house from 7 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the Bam at the Warrenton Lord Fairfax Community College campus. Faculty and staff will be present to discuss the MVGS program and answer questions. Current MVGS students will be available to describe their experiences in the MVGS program. Applications for MVGS will be accepted in February for the fall of 2008 from outstanding rising eleventh and twelfth graders from the counties of Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Frederick, Rappahannock, Warren and the City of Winchester. The deadline for applications is March 3, 2008. Please contact the divisions’ gifted and talented coordinators, high school guidance offices or the MVGS Web site (www.mvgs.kl2.va.us) for more information.
MVGS is a regional program for academically talented and highly motivated eleventh and twelfth grade students. Science, mathematics, humanities and research courses are uniquely integrated to provide a college-level, project-based learning environment.
