Finishing second is getting old.
“It’s kind of like what my mom was telling me,” Rappahannock County High School senior Nancy Herbert said. “It’s nice being the bridesmaid, but you’d like to be the bride. I'm tired of getting the little trophy. I think that (head coach Dave) Naser deserves and needs a bigger trophy.”
Rappahannock County’s Scholastic Bowl team will have one more opportunity this season to present Naser with a larger trophy.
But the Panthers will need to win the biggest prize the Group A Scholastic Bowl offers. A state championship.
