Virginia was not immune to the national rise in insurance fraud, and the 1FP had a very busy year in 2008. Happily, results were gratifying. The IFP received more than 2,000 notifications last year, an alltime high. Insurance fraud special agents opened 808 cases in 2008. That's a 76 percent increase over 2007"s case load.
