In addition to trophy areas, they have also selected a few historic areas to fish — the McCloud River in California, the home river of U.S. fisheries for rainbow trout, for instance.
They chose a few others simply for their breathtaking beauty — the St. Croix River in Wisconsin and a section of the water from Lake Powell Dam into the Grand Canyon.
Turner has been a fisherman all his life and has caught just about every' popular native species of freshwater game, and more saltwater varieties than he can count.
“We will be going alter 25 species of fish,” in the 50 states, he said. "The only fish that I have not ever gone after are muskie and sturgeon. 1 actually once caught a sturgeon, but it was by accident.”

Everything worked well then; everything will work well on the expedition. Turner said, “because there is no failure in this trip.
“We are not trying to set a world record; to my know! edge, there is no record (for fishing the most states in consecutive days]. It is all about the experience.”
