Dinner

From Page B1

Chef Armstrong, a celebrated visionary in the buy fresh/buy local and farm-tofork movements, will create a menu using ingredients sourced primarily by Rappahannock farmers. Rappahannock artisan wines specially selected by sommelier Todd Thrasher will provide a perfect complement to each course. Thrasher will also create a special cocktail using local Wasmund’s whiskey. Guests will spend the evening with Chef Armstrong and mingle with the farmers and winemakers who dedicate themselves to providing meats, produce and other delicacies in Rappahannock’s pristine and natural environment.

This experience will be enhanced by views of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains as seen from the summit of Mount Vernon Farm. Totaling 830 acres, Mount Vernon Farm has been owned by the Miller family since 1827. Cattle, lambs, and pigs are raised sustainably on 230 acres of pastureland. The farm is under a conservation easement and has won awards for its Chesapeake Bay friendly riparian conservation and grazing practices.

“We are honored to have Chef Armstrong as our guest chef for this event and we are indebted to the Millers who have graciously offered their farm as the stunning setting
