Tiffany Wayland, Malcolm Perry, and Joe Vickers won second place and the debating technology issues team of Joe Vickers and Malcolm Perry won third place.
The onsite problem for the Geospatial team was to focus on the local governments and the incidence of DUI, MRSA, and storm surges from a hurricane that comes ashore. The debate team topic was that American high school students are being surpassed in test scores compared to other leading countries. In the preliminary round of debate the students had to argue the con side of the argument and in the finals they had to argue the pro side of the issue.
The following students were top 10 finishers - Adam Carter - structural engineering and technology bowl (oral); Brittani Dodson - imaging technology; Malcolm Perry - structural engineering and technology bowl (oral); and Joe Vickers - technology bowl (written) and technology bowl (w'ritten).
