Since 1994 his work has changed radically from thin layers of oil paint and subdued color which only suggested form 'with precision, however) into an active physical, engaging painting style with both knife and brush and strong vibrant color. This group of paintings was begun in the field and finished in the studio, which is a new development for him. Moving into the studio, he has found inside himself what he was looking for in nature.
