Plans are underway to merge
some administrative functions of Rappahannock County Department of Social services with those of the Culpeper Department of Human Services.
Effective July 1, Culpeper will assume responsibility for handling the accounts payable. In exchange the Director of Rappahannock, Beverly Dunford, will provide oversight and consultation with the Service Unit of the Culpeper office.
This came as a result of the budget woes of the state and localities. Initially talks began as the legislature proposed a study of consolidation of agencies serving populations of 20,000 or under. As we began exploring ways of streamlining our work with an eye toward saving money and maintaining service delivery for each community, we felt this would be
