HUS IS an exciting summer for Castleton. From July 3 through July 19, Castleton Farms will be hosting the very first Castleton Festival. Over 200 young artists will be participating in three weeks of rehearsals and performances.

Events include four operas by Benjamin Britten: “Albert Herring,” “The Beggar’s Opera,” “The Rape of Lucretia” and “The Turn of the Screw,” which is a new production.

There will be two evening orchestral concerts. Maestro Lorin Maazel will be conducting all but two of the evening operas.

A gala opening night and dinner will be held on Friday, July 3. One very interesting feature will be the option to observe Maazel’s master classes,
