Public Policy Polling, based in Raleigh, N.C., sun/eyed 617 likely voters in the Virginia Democratic primary between May 19 and May 21. Some results follow: Overall support: • Creigh Deeds — 20 percent • Terry McAuliffe — 29 percent • Brian Moran — 20 percent • Undecided — 31 percent
Other findings: • Forty-two percent of respondents said they could change their mind before June 9. • Voters who identified themselves as liberal tended to back McAuliffe and Moran, while those identifying themselves as moderate or conservative favored Deeds. • McAuliffe had the strongest support from African-Americans — about 32 percent — while Moran had the support of 40 percent of the Hispanic voters surveyed. Deeds is strongest among white voters.
