The system went live at the end of April with 6,000 medications scanned. It took several months of testing various scanners and bar code configurations to determine which would work best at Culpeper Regional and be the most effective. The keyboard and mouse used with the computer are medical grade quality.
Any patient admitted to Culpeper Regional Hospital will now have the added security of the Bedside Medication Verification (BMV) system.
