After a power surge Aug 8 caused a number of locai Allegheny Power customers significant damage and concern, some of them are now trying to find an alternative source of power: in numbers, that is
“Not everyone has submitted a claim to Allegheny, but as far as I know, all of those who did received the same denial letter," said Clark Lane resident Allan Rexinger, referring to a letter he and others received from Allegheny denying their claims and any negligence on 11s part.
Rexinger said his dishwasher and hot tub required about $1,300 worth of repairs and parts. "So what - did Martians do this?”
Rexinger and Foster Harris House Bed and Breakfast co-owner Diane MacPherson are compiling a list of others affected by the surge, which took place after 1 p m Saturday, Aug. 8
Rexinger Wants to form a coalition, which he’s calling ZAP (for Zapped by Allegheny Power), and appeal to local and state elected officials and the State Corporation Commission for restitution.
