Watching for the scores of ninjas, fairies, pirates, princesses, witches and warlocks, the residents of Sperryville will light up their doorways to welcome the children of the county who, on Halloween especially, can be who or what they dream to be.

Stonewall Abbey is closing at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 to keep the goblins away. The parents may have to do candy control the next day; but people in the village will be doing traffic control.
