often by myself, sometimes for hours at a time and so while the course was intended for concealed weapons, and defense against humans, I was mostly interested in learning how to tise a handgun for other purposes, thinking about unexpected dangerous encounters in the w-oods mostly, and maybe a surprise visit by a rabid animal on my back porch.

So, expecting a rather sterile, shoot-em-up cowboy course, I was unprepared, and totally surprised, by the depth and magnitude of the content provided, the amount of information that was shared and learned by all of us. We had a larger than expected class, many of them women and many experienced gun enthusiasts as well as those of us like me, with virtually no knowledge nor experience.

Major Jenkins had us literally riveted with his presentation, a man of presence, an articulate man, passionate about his chosen craft. And a craft it is. He is a noted firearms specialist, an expert, a man who has also personally experienced the devastation that firearms can cause. And so he is passionate about educating the public not only to learn to defend ourselves but also to respect life and the power of these weapons and to nurture a healthy respect for the law and its fallibility - and the fallibility,
