The Rappahannock Historical Society invites the community to a reception and booksigning in celebration of the release of the 2009 reprinting of the classic work “My Rappahannock Story Book.”
.The special event will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 from 3-6 p.m. at the Middleton Inn on Main Street in “Little" Washington.
The Historical Society is pleased to be able to offer this fine new printing of a work that has long been out of print and is considered to be a collector’s ite'*' Anyone with an interest in the heritage of Rappahannock County will find this book to be an essential addition to his or her library.
In the late 1940s Mary Elizabeth Hite (“Miss Dolly’* assembled a rich combination of factual records, oral histories, and local lore to create the book about Rappahannock County. The result was a detailed snapshot of the people, places, and attitudes of her times. Many of the homes, the families and the landmarks that Hite described remain fundamental to the life of the community.
