Friday at the
movies: ‘Cheri’
The Rappahannix'k Association for the Arts and Community will present the film “Cheri”on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. at The Theatre in Washington. This is a romantic drama film adaptation of a 1920s French novel by Colette. It is rated R and runs 100 minutes.
The movie centers on a middle-aged woman who has a six-year love affair with a much younger man. It comes to a painful ending when the young man is forced into an arranged marriage with a wealthy younger woman. Being stuck in a loveless marriage, the young man continues to pine for his lover.
