• “Concealed Carry of Handguns" training, 10 hours, at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department, hosted by the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office. The course is free of charge and open to Rappahannock County residents. The course in basic handgun shooting and safety, which includes range time, requires no prior experience with a handgun but students will need to provide their own handgun and at least 100 rounds of ammunition. Major Scott Jenkins is the lead firearms instructor for the course, which runs 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m., also on Thursday, Dec. 3; Register by contacting the Sheriff •s Office (540-675-5300) by Friday, Nov. 20. Certificates will be awarded for successful completion of the course, for their use in the application process for a concealed weapon permit.
