Andrist grew up on a farm in rural Saskatchewan and began her early musical training in Canada. From there she went on to study at the Juilhard School in New York where she completed her masters and doctoral degrees. She was first pnze winner at the San Antonio International Competition the Mozart International Competition, and the Juilhard Concerto Competition
Andrist's many engagements include a concert tour of China, performances in Japan, and concerto appearances in California She has performed in many of North America’s most prestigious venues, including Alice Tully Hall. Chicago's Ravinia Festival, and Place des Arts in Montreal. Her recent Cl) with Canadian violinist Jasper Wood garnered “Best Classical Disc of the Year" aw ards irom the East Coast Music Association and the Independent Record Producers in Canada. She soon will be recording the Schumann Fantasy and Carnaval for CD release in _'010.
