Washington Volunteer Fire & Rescue members offered lunch and snacks to visitors and- residents attending the fifth annual tour of artists’ studios and galleries this past weekend.
The so-called “Fire House Cafe’ was set up in the front bay, complete with tables, chairs, cloth table cloths and a shade tent. It was indeed quite warm, especially on Sunday.
Members Hope Huff, Danny Huff and Sylvie Rowand ran the cafe. Austin Huff, who is too young to be a member, also helped
The volunteers served complimentary beverages as well as three kinds of sandwiches including pulled pork sourced from Belle Meade Farm with yummy chutney donated by the Virginia Chutney Company.
There were three soups, fresh organic mixed salad greens donated by The Farm at Sunnyside, local apples from Roy’s Orchard, and a selection of home-baked sweets including chocolate chip cookies, brownies, coconut bars and Cornmeal Thyme Rosemary Cookies.
