Visitor center: topic to
be revisited Nov. 20

The topic of a visitor center for Rappahannock County - what it’s for, where it lives, who should pay for it and how - will be much discussed in the weeks to cojme.
Only one of these discussions will be official, howev-* er, and it will start Friday, Nov. 20 at the Washington Town Hall, when a group known as the Tourism Partnership meets and - at the specific request of the county Board of Supervisors - begins the discussion.
The board voted a week earlier to table a request to denote a specific visitor center location - an act required for state assistance, including highway signage - after it turned out there were two competing proposals.
The proposals came from The Link, operated at the former high school site in Sperryville by the Rappahannock Non-Profit Center (RNPC), and from Jerome Niessen, who is building a natural-food coop and associated arts center in the former Sperryville Antiques Market a few blocks away on River Lane.
