Speaking directly to the Town Council members Monday night, Brown said: “If the town is interested, the time to act is now.”
The county’s tourism presence was stepped up last year with the help of a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation, which allowed creation of an Office of Tourism, a county tourism Web site (www.visitrappahannockva.com) and a yearlong consulting contract for Laura Overstreet, who became the county’s tourism coordinator.
