Michaele Salahi was named by several media outlets in Washington as a top contender for a spot on the show. Bravo announced plans for the show in May, providing these casting parameters:
“We’re tapping personalities who are among Washington D.C.'s influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders — the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city’s diverse political and social circles"
A Bravo spokesperson said Monday that the D.C. cast has not been finalized, but acknowledged that Salahi is “under consideration as a cast member. The decision as to who will be included in the series will not be made for several months.”
The spokesperson declined to comment on whether Salahi’s visit to the White House would help land her a spot or ensure that she doesn’t. She also did not comment on the network's geographic definition of Washington, D.C. or how a woman who resides in Front Royal, at least an hour ‘outside the Beltway, qualifies as a Washington housewife.
