Shepherds' Play performed by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts (RAAC) at the RAAC Community Theatre in Washington, 7 p.m., and also on Sunday, Dec. 13. First performed in the 16th century by villagers of the town of Oberufer, Germany, it has more recently become a Rappahannock tradition. The play tells the story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the shepherds' travels to see the Christ child. The play includes acting, singing, and dancing by local performers. Tickets are $15 for adults; children under 12 are free. For reservations call 540-675-3193. Tickets can be paid for at the door.

Tuesday, Jan. 5-6
