Pfc. Luke Adam Bedortha, a 2006 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, returned home recently for 15 days of R and R from Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan
He is a gunner in the 92nd Military Police Company, 2nd Platoon, 1st Squad. He is attached to the Airborne Rangers.
Luke is the son of William and Edie Bedortha of Huntly and brother of Billy Bedortha and family of Flint Hill. He is the grandson of Lorene Dwyer of Sperryville and Ellen Bedortha of Salem, Ore. He is the great-grandson of Gene Smith of Elgin, Ore.
Luke enjoyed being home with his family and friends. He has returned to Afghanistan to his unit, continuing his tour in Operation Enduring Freedom. His family asks that folks keep all of the soldiers in their prayers and that they return home safe.
