The Washington schoolhouse and property, sold at auction recently, was purchased by Col. Earl Holmes for the high bid of $20,500. The sale has been approved by the local school board but must be confirmed by Judge Elliott Marshall.

Skyline Ski area, Washington, is rapidly gearing itself for the coming season. Under new ownership and management, Skyline Ski area has taken a new lease on life Work is proceed-. mg rapidly toward a vastly improved operation with improved mechanical facilities and an enlarged snow-making plant. Everything points to one of the best if not the best season Skyline has ever had. The area is under the management of Col. Evan A. McNear who invites Virginians to become skiers at Skyline.
