James, administrator of Southside Community Hospital, announced today that the hospit al had received official notice from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals to ihe effect that the local hospital is fully accredited for the next three years, or until further no tice. Tlie Accreditation Commission is a joint commission sponsored by the American College of Physici ans. American College of Sur geons, American Hospital Associa tion American- Medical Associa tion, and the Canadian Medical Association. Tlie Commission has the re sponsibility of inspecting and re viewing the proceedures and re cords of hospitals in the United States and Canada to determine their acceptability. Their objctive is to( improve the medical service of the hospitals in the two coun tries.
