The General is played by Kirk Douglas and Susan Hayward is the adept comedienne as Dottie Peale. The picture is amusing for adults and sophisticated young people, but is not for children. "The Quiet Gun"—Forrest Tucker is sheriff of a small Western town who straggles to quiet the citizens aroused against a local rancher. No one knows, at first, that the man responsible for the trouble wants the rancher's land. The show is good of a kind for adults and-young people. "Written on the Wind"—is an adult film. A self-made millionaire turns from his spoiled son to de late to importance a poor boy of an employee. While th? film sticks to the theme, it has something valid to say, but it goes overboard by having the neglected son. as well as his sister, frustrated. Rock Hud son plays the favored employee's son and Lauren Bacall is compas sionate as the girl who marries the rich sop then falls in love with Hud son. I.ee Theater “Seven Men From Now"—A form e~ sheriff of Silver Springs tracks down seven outlaws responsible for a Wells-Fargo robbery in which his wife was killed, with Randolph Scott and Gail Russell. For adults and young people. "A Woman's Devotion"—w i t h Ralph Meeker and Janice Rule is good for adults and mature young people. A devoted young wife of a battle-shocked man tries to save him from a murder charge. The set ting is Acapulco, Mexico. The per formances have life and interest one might wish the plot were as well sustained as mood and atmos phere. "A Kiss Before Dying"—A G.I. college student kills his pregnant fiancee, fearing her disinheritance by her wealthy father, and plans to marry another girl. For adults only. Robert Wagner, who is always cast as an all-American boy. is chillingly convincing in the role.
