W. Maxey. Friends here were sorry to hea of the death of Bennie L. Self Sun day morning near Arvonia. After a short graveside funeral service con ducted by Rev. Charlie Stevens Monday, he was laid to rest in the lem’ly cemetery at the home of the late Mrs. Kate Self. Rev. and Mrs. Charlie Stevens, and son. moved to the parsonage here Tuesday. He preached at Sha-nn Sunday, beginning as pastor of this field of churches. Sharon, Goshen and Mt. Tabor. Mr. and Mrs J E. Self, of Pearl River. N. Y . arc spending a few days with Mr. and M-s. C. L Maxey. They came Monday to at tend the funeral of Mr. Self's brother. J. H. Winfrey and his mother. Mrs. Annie Winfrey, visited Mrs. G A Baber, in the home of Mr and Mrs. Joe Steger Sunday. Mrs. Baber is improving after being a patient In University Hospital for several days last week. Mrs. J. P. Booth and son. Tommy, and her mother and father, who are now living with the Booths at Faber, called on Mr. and Mrs. Allan Tapscott and Mr and Mrs. Joe Steger Tuesday. M-s. Harry Griffin, of Charleston. S. C.. and Herman Banton. of Rich mond, spent Saturday with their mother. Mrs. John Banton. Mrs William Mdler. of Howards ville. has been with M-s. Clara Maxey since she has been ill to help Mrs. Bennie Maxey nurse her.
